Hebrews 13:5
Let your conduct be
without covetous; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has
said, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
We can have confidence that God will not forsake us. He
promised that there is eternal life for all who believe that He sent His Son
Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. It is as simple as that.
Most people try to turn salvation into something it’s not.
We do not need to go beyond Jesus to get into Heaven. We do not need to spend
our time trying to work our way to Heaven. We continue to do good works because
we are grateful that we are accepted into Heaven.
Application: Out of appreciation to God for the free gift of
salvation, I am going to seek the word about what it looks like to continue in
good works unto Him that I may gain more confidence in my spiritual conduct.
